Week 1-2
After an explosive win against the Mt. Healthy Owls in the first game of the year (W 72-43)…. The Spartans went on the road to play the 5th ranked team in the Enquirer Division I coaches’ poll(LaSalle/Cincinnati L 67-51) and the 34th best team in the country(Scott County/Lexington, Kentucky* L 76-68).
It was a tough “early test” for the Spartans.
I talked to Coach Brian Neal right after both games and he said, “You have to be positive” …”6 out of the 8 quarters we were the best team”
And it was that simple. If the Spartans win the 1st quarter….we’ve basically have won the game.
But Coach Neal took it with a grain a salt and told the team, “Let’s Go Into Christmas Break 4-2”

Week 3
12/17 Purcell Marian–
The Spartans again, didn’t win the first quarter.. but went on to rout the Cavailiers (W 75-49)
by scoring 65 points in the last 3 quarters.
12/18 Shroder Paideia–
You guessed it! The Spartans didn’t win the first quarter…..or the half… but went on to put up 59 points in the 2nd half… to put away the Jaguars (W 84-70).
Heading into the final game before ‘their Christmas Break’ against Winton Woods(12/22), let’s see if the Spartans can compose themselves to rock the first quarter….. because we already know this team can put on an “offensive clinic” (Segue)

*Gavin Schumann(Junior Guard)- He coined the term..”The Dynasty”… because most of the team is full of juniors and their offense is somewhat ‘beasty’.
